All schools and colleges are set to open today after a long Pongal holiday in Tamilnadu and Pondicherry. However, students across Tamilnadu and Pondicherry boycott classes to support Jallikattu
Students gathered at various places in their town and city and demonstrate their support. Students from various educational institutions including professional colleges across Tamilnadu and Pondicherry abstained from classes to support Jallikattu and they demand to lift the ban on Jallikattu.
Jallikattu is an ancient and time honoured tradition of Tamils and should never be banned
Amend PCA act 1960 and remove BULL from performing animals list
Sporting placards and banners in support of Jallikattu, students formed a human chain and raised slogans condemning the ban. They also insisted that the ban should be lifted without any delay.
VOICM thanks, Tamilnadu & Pondicherry police who were deployed in strength to ensure that there was no disruption of traffic at the venue of agitation. Also, the protesters are cleaning their area after having food which shows their discipline and democratic approach.
