Sabari Shankar invites everyone to live their DREAMS.
A team of young minds led by Sabari Shankar started an organization name “Kanavukku Seyal Koduppom (KSK)” (Give action to Dreams) and turned entertaining social media platform like Facebook and Twitter into self-realising social media. They help lesser privileged by imparting basic education and help HIV positive victims.
A few years back, he was moved by the plight of children at an orphanage in a small town called Aruppukottai near Madurai. After his visit to that orphanage home, he wanted to help children like them but didn’t know how to start.
He took social media as his tool and formed a network of like-minded people and started helping lesser privileged students who need help.
The first step is always a tougher move, later many friends join hands and supported many needy people. From one of the health center, they come to know that many HIV positive parents need help to buy milk for their infants as they cannot feed them. KSK volunteers managed to pool a required milk power and supply it to health centers and government hospitals. They have managed to help over thousand children till now.
KSK team spend more time with children rather than with their family and friends. They even avoid family trips but they are driven by their vision. The youths continue to dream high and want to run exclusive study centers for street and poor children.
While talking to VOICM, Sabari Shankar strongly feels that there should be an increased awareness about social service among students community. If the students come out to help the poor and lesser privileged like this cost nothing, we will be able to build a better and different society.
Now, they are Integrating self-help group of educated women in a state of poverty that they are starting a business support services in the name of “Hope Xerox Center”.
Apart from doing photocopy work, they also do Spiral Binding, Computer typing, the sale of various forms and sale of stationery items.
Looking for support in getting good condition and working computer, Printer, spiral binding machine, and photocopiers. This will improve the livelihood of many poor women in this belief by the Xerox Centre.
